As I explore a run for public office in 2026, I’m guided by a firm belief that programs like Social Security and Medicare are not just government benefits, they’re promises we’ve made to every working American. We owe it to current recipients and future generations to uphold those promises.
But here’s the reality — both programs are facing serious financial headwinds. If we do nothing, the Social Security Trust Fund could be depleted by 2034, putting future benefits at risk. Medicare’s own trust fund could run out even sooner. That’s unacceptable.
To save and strengthen these vital programs, we need real leadership, not more partisan gridlock.
That means bringing both parties together to root out the waste, fraud, and abuse that drain billions of dollars from these systems every year. In 2022 alone, Medicare lost over $60 billion to improper payments. That’s money that should be going toward care for seniors, not lining the pockets of bad actors or getting lost in bureaucratic inefficiency.
I’m not running to play politics. I’m running to protect the promises that matter. And I believe we can do that by holding both parties accountable, demanding transparency, and putting common sense over political games.
We can preserve to fund Social Security and Medicare, not just for today’s retirees, but for our children and grandchildren. But it’s going to take all of us speaking up, standing together, and demanding better from Washington.
