I am running for U.S. Congress to represent the Massachusetts 9th Congressional District which includes the South Shore, the South Coast, Cape Cod, and the Islands.
I am a common-sense conservative, registered nurse, labor union member, and concerned tax-paying citizen. I am not a politician. I'm a career voter but never want to become a career politician.
I want to advocate for the working and middle classes and our seniors. I believe about 80% of the people agree on about 80% of the big issues we face as a people. I want to bring common-sense conservatism back to our Congress. I want a constitutional government of we the people, by the people, and for the people. I’m disinterested in petty partisanship or the politics of personality that make corporatists, elitists, and globalists richer and more powerful and make the rest of us poorer and weaker. I care about the policies and priorities that impact the ordinary (non-elitist) residents of Massachusetts and citizens of the United States.
I was raised in a working middle-class family wherein my father, Daniel, was a public high school math teacher and my mother, Barbara, was a homemaker. Together, they raised six children. My parents filled our household with love and laughter. They emphasized the importance of a good education and a strong work ethic. My siblings and I never got everything we wanted as children, but we never went without. Our parents were great providers and caregivers to us. We were not privileged, but we were truly blessed. I’m so grateful to them.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Nursing from Regis College and an Associate's Degree in Nursing from Lawrence Memorial/Regis College Nursing Program. Previously, I obtained a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Marquette University.
I worked twenty-plus years in business-to-business sales and business development for companies ranging from the Fortune 1000 to start-ups. During the great recession of the Obama presidency, I changed careers to pursue more meaningful work. I attended nursing school at night and on the weekends while working full-time during the day for four years to earn my nursing degree and registered nurse license.
I work as a medical/surgical registered nurse in an acute care community hospital in an urban environment serving a large local immigrant population. I love my job, my co-workers, and my patients. I work with a competent, compassionate, and caring team of professionals who strive to achieve optimal health outcomes for our patients and their families.
I am an active labor union member belonging to the Massachusetts Nurses Association (MNA) and the American Nurses Association (ANA). Today, the MNA is the largest union and professional association of registered nurses and healthcare professionals in Massachusetts, and the third largest in the United States. The MNA is a one-member/one-vote democratic organization where its members set the agenda. The ANA establishes standards of nursing practice, promotes the rights of nurses in the workplace, and advances the economic and general welfare of nurses across the country.
I am a proud father to my son who works as an engineer, and uncle to twelve nieces and nephews.
Ordinary non-elitist citizens like me contribute to our country by voting, serving in the military, serving jury duty, and paying our taxes. As more and more corporatists, elitists, and globalists want to exert greater authority, power, and control over our lives, livelihoods and lifestyles, I chose to no longer remain a part of the Silent Majority.
I want to change the direction and the policies and priorities of our Congress. I want to advocate for all, not just for protected classes. I want equality of opportunity for all, not socialist equity of outcomes for the masses. I want peace and prosperity, health and happiness for all of us.
I ask for your support and your vote this September 6, 2022.
If you or anyone that you know would like to volunteer and/or donate, please inquire within.
Thank you and God Bless America and We the People,
Nurse Dan
